Peter Hutchinson — A Visionary in Global Polymer Trading

Peter Hutchinson founded b+h Polymers in 1992 in Manchester, U.K., driven by a simple yet powerful belief: the plastics industry could be more connected, transparent, and sustainable. With a sharp eye for international trade and a deep understanding of material sourcing, Peter developed the Elixir brand which was quickly established as a trusted name in both the U.K. and U.S.A. markets.

By 1998, he expanded operations to the United States, launching b+h Polymers U.S.A. in Orlando, Florida. From this strategic hub, Peter built long-standing partnerships with converters, recyclers, and brand owners across North America and beyond, including starting his own recycling plant in North Carolina, U.S.A. supplying to global brand owners, including but not limited to PepsiCo and Coca-Cola.

Over three decades later, Peter has worked with some of the most respected names in the plastics space. His leadership and hands-on approach have helped clients navigate complex regulatory landscapes, scale sourcing operations, and embrace sustainability as a core business strategy.

Despite Peter’s unexpected passing in March of 2024, b+h Polymers remains dedicated to building strong relationships and bringing newfound value and innovation to the polymer world, as our founder had done for decades.
