b+h Polymers Joins the Polystyrene Recycling Alliance (PSRA)

b+h Polymers is excited to announce that we have officially joined the Polystyrene Recycling Alliance, a coalition focused on accelerating measurable progress in polystyrene circularity across North America. This step aligns directly with our long-term goal of building a more transparent, efficient, and sustainable value chain for both rigid and foam polystyrene.

Our team believes that the future of PS depends on collaboration. Today, no single company can address the challenges surrounding waste collection, feedstock quality, recycling infrastructure, or consistent end-market demand independently. By joining the PSRA, we are choosing to work alongside industry leaders who are committed to advancing recycling systems that will help bring a communal approach towards a greener Earth.

What This Means for b+h Polymers

Membership in the PSRA gives us a seat at the table across the entire PS value chain. This includes recyclers, processors, resin producers, technology partners, and downstream brands who rely on polystyrene in their packaging and product lines.

Through this partnership, b+h Polymers gains the ability to, participate in active discussions shaping the future of PS circularity, contribute insights, and market intelligence that guide industry decision making, support new collection programs designed to capture PS and EPS more effectively, strengthen the supply chain for recycled PS by connecting feedstock sources to responsible markets, and learn from established operators and apply best practices to our own trading and recycling initiatives.

This involvement will allow us to better understand how active pilots PS are already utilizing recycling infrastructure. It also provides us with visibility into where the strongest demand exists for recycled polystyrene, and how we can help direct material into more suitable channels.

Why the PSRA Matters for the Industry

The Polystyrene Recycling Alliance operates with a clear and practical mission. Rather than focusing on theoretical models or long-term ambitions, the group centers its efforts on projects that can create immediate impact. These include collection programs, densification and processing partnerships, and targeted end-market development.

By bringing together companies with different roles in the value chain, the PSRA ensures that solutions are realistic, grounded in operational knowledge, and capable of scaling. Their progress over the past year shows how coordinated initiatives can increase recovery rates, improve recycling economics, and make PS a more competitive and sustainable material.

b+h Polymers and Our Vision Ahead

Our goal is to help shape a future where polystyrene recycling is well documented, well managed, and widely accessible. Through this partnership, we plan to:

• Increase industry awareness around the true volume of PS and EPS already being collected today

• Help demonstrate the value of PS recycling when collection and end markets are properly aligned

• Explore ways to expand recycling access for companies seeking certified materials

Joining the PSRA is a crucial step in our larger commitment to improving the circularity of polystyrene. We look forward to contributing to creating a greener Earth.
